Frequently Asked Questions

5 questions answered

Is this an official SSC typing certificate?
No. This is a practice performance certificate issued by SSC Typing Test (ssctype.com). It records your speed and accuracy on our practice tests. The official SSC typing test certificate is issued only by the Staff Selection Commission after the DEST/Typing Test conducted at TCS iON exam centers. Our certificate is for personal tracking and motivation purposes only and cannot be submitted to any government body as proof of typing proficiency.
Can I download the certificate as PDF?
The certificate downloads as a high-resolution PNG image (900 x 640 pixels). If you need a PDF version, you can open the downloaded PNG in any PDF converter tool or use your computer's Print to PDF feature. Most printers can print the PNG directly at excellent quality. The PNG format was chosen because it preserves the certificate's visual quality across all devices and is easier to share on social media and messaging apps.
What typing speed do I need for SSC CGL certificate?
The SSC CGL DEST (Data Entry Speed Test) requires a minimum speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour, which approximately equals 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) in English typing. On our platform, if you achieve 35+ WPM with 90%+ accuracy, you receive a Grade A or A+ certificate, indicating you are at or above the CGL qualifying threshold. For SSC CHSL, the English typing requirement is 30 WPM (1,750 key depressions in 10 minutes).
Can I share this certificate on social media?
Yes, the certificate is designed to be shareable. After downloading the PNG image, you can post it on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. The certificate includes your name, WPM, accuracy, grade, test name, and date. Many SSC aspirants share their practice certificates in study groups to track progress and motivate each other.
Why does my certificate show a different WPM than expected?
The WPM on your certificate is the gross WPM from your most recent test result. It is calculated using the standard formula: (total characters typed / 5) / time in minutes. The accuracy percentage reflects how many of those characters were typed correctly. If your WPM seems lower than expected, check your accuracy. Also note that SSC DEST uses key depressions per hour (KDPH) as the metric, not WPM. 35 WPM roughly equals 8,000 KDPH.
